Treatment for Tendinitis in Southeastern Pennsylvania
Relieving Your Foot Pain in Newtown & Warminster
The foot is made up of many muscles, tendons, and bones, all of which must work in unison for maximum mobility and comfortable functioning. When trauma or injury is impacted on the foot it may lead to harmful symptoms of inflammation, redness, and pain. It is important to be aware of warning signs and understand the common types of tendinitis so you can know when you may be overusing your feet or have a condition you are unaware of.
Common Types of Tendinitis
If you are an active person or participate in high-interval workouts frequently, impact to your foot and ankles is naturally common. For example, running can produce a great amount of force on the feet, and symptoms can lead to pain, tightness, inflammation, and burning.
The most common types of foot & ankle tendinitis include:
- Achilles Tendonitis – pain along the back of the foot.
- Anterior Tibial Tendonitis – pain over the top of the foot or ankle.
- Posterior Tibial Tendonitis – pain along the inside of the foot or ankle.
- Extensor tendonitis – pain over the top of the foot or ankle.
- Peroneal Tendonitis – pain along the outside of the foot or ankle.
Treatment for Tendinitis
We will work closely with you to develop a treatment plan best suited for your situation. We may need to assess the elasticity in your tendons, as well as study the structure and shape of your foot and ankle. At Bux-Mont Foot & Ankle Care Centers, we try to approach treatments for tendinitis with non-surgical treatments and other conservative or minimally invasive therapies.
In rare cases, surgical intervention may be necessary but our experts will ensure your care is collaboratively planned so you are always at ease.
